A Formal Complaint must be filed by the Complainant or signed by the Title IX Coordinator in order to initiate the informal or formal procedures described in Procedure 1 or Procedure 2. The determination about which grievance procedure applies depends on the status of the parties and the type of Prohibited Conduct alleged.
Procedure 1 applies to Formal Complaints of Prohibited Conduct made pursuant to the Title IX & Sexual Misconduct Policy when the following conditions are met:

The process for resolution of Formal Complaints under each Procedure is designated based on the status of the Respondent: student or employee.
