The Tuscaloosa Community also provides resources to individuals who have been impacted by sexual misconduct.

Tuscaloosa Safe Center provides free sexual assault/rape forensic examinations. It is a community-based, collaborative agency designed to meet the emotional, medical and forensic needs of sexual assault survivors.

Turning Point of West Alabama provides direct client services to individuals impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault as well as affected family members. Examples of free available client services include: emergency shelter, 24-hour crises line, individual counseling, support groups, skills groups, financial literacy training, children’s services, legal advocacy, follow-up services, information and referral.

The Victim’s Services Division of the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney’s Office provides victims with support before, during, and after their cases are processed through the judicial system. The unit assists victims in filing the proper forms for the recovery of restitution and offers support during the judicial process.
