Policies and Forms Related to Pregnant Students

Requests for Modifications Related to Pregnancy or Related Medical Conditions

The University recognizes that students with pregnancy and pregnancy-related medical conditions may need Reasonable Modifications to have equally effective opportunities to participate in education programs or activities. The Student Pregnancy and Related Medical Conditions Assistance Policy sets forth guidelines for a student to request Reasonable Modifications to ensure equal access to UA’s education program or activity based on physical and/or mental conditions related to, affected by, or arising out of pregnancy, childbirth, or other pregnancy-related medical conditions.

Requests for Paid Pregnancy Leave for Eligible Graduate Assistants

The University supports and promotes the positive work-life balance of graduate student assistants. The Graduate Assistant Pregnancy Leave Policy allows eligible Graduate Assistants to retain their assistantships and continue their benefits while taking approved and voluntary leave to recover from childbirth. Eligible Graduate Assistants who are medically recovering from the birth of a child are entitled to a maximum for eight (8) calendar weeks of paid leave. Graduate Assistants must meet the criteria for eligibility as stated in the Policy.
